Name: Kon Karapanagiotidis

The founder and coordinator of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre is Australia's largest asylum seeker aid, health and advocacy organisation. He has worked with marginalised communities including the homeless, survivors of sexual abuse and asylum seekers for the past 14 years as a social worker, lawyer and educator.

Kon has a strong commitment to human rights and social justice and is currently focusing his energies on trying to end Australia's inhuman refugee policies. Kon and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre have been recognised for their work with a number of awards such as the HREOC human rights award (community), St Michael's medallion and PILCH pro bono award for their contribution to human rights. In his spare time Kon follows his beloved Carlton football club, enjoys traveling and spending time with friends.
